Good news everyone i got the min requirements for BF2142

The following are minimum requirements for Batlefield 2142:

Windows XP
1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D/Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/Sempron Processor
4 GB free hard drive space (5 GB hard drive space recommended)
DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (128 MB memory and NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or ATI Radeon 8500 chip set)
DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Broadband connection (cable, DSL, or faster)

My team recently competed in a Battlefield 2142 tournament in Hollywood, California. Gamecaster 2142 Tourny. We have experience in a successful BF2142 tournament and would like to help. If you want suggestions for formats please let me know. From what i have read off the tech forum for BF 2142. The FULL store perchased copy (not the downloaded one) does NOT have the apyware in it. I know that alot of people where concerned about it. I think it's pretty stupid my self.

Its not spyware as it has to do specifically with the game itself. Basically it downloads and displays in-game ads. It does create a unique number specific locally on your computer and breaks down your IP address geographically so it can track when you saw the ad and how and so forth. It is not spyware, just advanced adware. There is a difference. It still totally sucks but its not as bad as people think. It doesn't "snoop" your computer or anything.

You can bet that EA wouldn't do anything to cause a class-action lawsuit against themselves. They have lots of lawyers to make sure of that. I do think this walks pretty close to the line though.

Yeah I know what it does. The fact is that they're charging full price for what is essentially a mod that includes in game advertising.

I don't care about them collecting my ip etc. I don't care about the tracking. I care about the fact that they are charging you full price for a game and then making additional money off dynamic in-game ads (which means they install more junk on your machine). I'd rather the option to pay full price and have no ads, or get it free and be subjected to them, but I will not at this point in time pay full price for both...

I'm still good for every other tournament game though

I dont mind it but i still think it's wrong. You should not have to pay full price for womthing there making money off of.

As far as the IP statistic thats fine. Makes sence.

The only thing im not sure on is does it realy requirere an internet connection even to play LAN?

I am gonna say my best guess is yes, because it does require that you can login to EA's account servers.

I can double check that though.
