The Conquering of Champlain

Well... me, G, Trish and AJ went to Ponderosa to eat ('cause we were hungry, how about that?)... and we came upon an idea: Cosplay + LARP + Camera = FUN!!!

Now picture this: A groups of four hardy heroes encounter a fearsome demon, searching for food deep in a dungeon, where they battle for life and death...

Except, the "dungeon" is Champlain Place... and the "searching for food", is the demon shopping... and the "battle" is the demon running away...


So far, the story we have is this:

The "demon" is in the store (EB), shopping for a new game. The heroes are in Wal-Mart, looking for good camping gear. As both the "demon" and the "heroes" are walking down the halls enjoying their respective "loot". As they meet in a hall, confusion creeps between them. As the "demon" drops his bags to run away, the "heroes" drop their bags to give chase.



Now, the things we need are:

1. Permission from Champlain Place, EB, Wal-Mart, and other stores to be able to do this.

2. Cameras to record the entire thing.

3. Video/Audio editing tools to make the video.

4. The costumes (not major costumes).

5. Sites to post this in.



So far, from what we were discussing, these are the people and parts so far:

MasterMarth (Mike): Demon
Master G (G): Hero #1
Wyldfire (AJ): Camera #1
Kieryn (Trish): Camera #2

hey hey thats a nice idea....but..youll never get the permission to film or even take pictures in the mall..its illigal.

outside wouldnt be a problem tho..but we would have to wait for the summer lol

Why would you say it's illegal?

taking pictures in a mall ia unautorized...trust me...they almost took my camera away when i took picture for my photo class..i was lucky cuz they didnt see me

It turns out that the mall is owned by some teacher's pension plan in Ontario, and they totally disallow any picture taking. If I'm not mistaken they don't allow it because off fear of documenting some of their bigger companies of doing illegal things and losing them. It's probably just half the answer but that's all i know.

I asked a friend of mine who works in securaty and he says as long as we are not just taking pictures of specific stores and that we have the permision from the mall there should be any problums.

We've already filmed and taken pictures inside malls, and we never got in trouble >.>

might also have to do with having pictures/film of yoounger kids. without having model or photo releases signed by parents, people get cranky, even if they are just in the background

one camp i worked at couldn't have pictures taken of certain kids because their parents were divorced and the parent without custody was not allowed to see the kid at all. so no pictures were allowed of those kids, to be used for ads for the camp, just in case the other parent found out where they were by accident.

creepy i know, but people do stuff like that. it's weird

Well, if that was the case, we could make sure all the people were 13 and above (like in EB) or film in semi-deserted areas (like the hall going to Future Shop)...

or just to a LOT of ass kissing and pre-planning and things like that. one way or the other, i think we could pull it off. it will just take a bit of organization on our parts.

Anyways, I might lend you guys my Dungeon Siege 2 CDs, so I can get you hooked on that

I heard a resounding "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" from the Kitchen. I don't think we need anymore Online RPGs to get hooked on guys.

*steals cookie dough that Kieryn is making*

*seconds the motion* i have enough RPG's to learn at the moment, although G would love to get a chance to try that one out and probably write about it too...

i might give it a try but don't be crushed if i try not to play very much ^_^

i'm trying not to get addicted to games this close to a spring/summer-esque season

I cant even keep track of one online game, yeah I'm that sad. But I do spend a lot of time gaming offline

i play 2 MMO's regularly, and just added a third. i think i should take a break from them in general.

they get confused in my head and when i try swapping between them i get confused even more.

So is everyone still interested in doing this.
