personally, i enjoy the subs, but there are some dubs that are very well done as well.

but the same can be said in reverse too, some subs are tiny and hard as all heck to read or go too fast to catch, and then there are some dubs, that well, i'd rather cut off my ears than listen to the voice actors that they picked for those animes.

I like dubs more, but sometimes it's subbed better than it is dubbed. It really depends on how well it's done, but in the end I prefer dubbed because I dont lose the animation from reading subtitles.

again, i like subs, but there have been a few where they go horribly fast, and my reading comprehension is pretty high.

i'm a pretty good speed reader, but not that good.

Well when there is subs, there are the few times where the transalation seems to have failed somewheres, it was like that in a subbed excel saga download i had, the names were very different and some other things.

Subbed Vs. Dubbed Empty
PostSubject: Re: Subbed Vs. Dubbed   Subbed Vs. Dubbed EmptySun 03 Sep 2006, 02:21

like alot of people say, it a matter of if the dub is done well. Dubbing gets a bad name because it easy to remeber the bad ones, and when it goes bad it REALLY goes bad. A good example right now I fine is naruto. I love that anime, but I can not stand that dub. The voices do not match the japanies at all and they don't even pronounce the names right.

And then a bad dub is done then that it for the show, your never getting it well done. Its licensed so most fan sub can't do them anymore and your never going to watch it again. For naruto they have "uncut" dvds, but there double the cost they should be and your going to only watch the sub anyway so why pay money for it.

Then, every now and then you'll fine a really good dub. Its it not going to be on tv the odds are better for quality since they have to have good voices it the plan on selling it all. Tv anime that I like is Inu Yasha (maybe not everyone) and the new anime on YTV Case Closed (anime Dectivite Conan)

Subbed Vs. Dubbed Empty
PostSubject: Raw anyone?   Subbed Vs. Dubbed EmptyWed 06 Sep 2006, 02:20

For my self, I prefer the originality of fan-subs and their dedication to the real dialog. Even the little things get lost in one language to the next, but if I could understand a tad more Japanese I would defiantly cast my vote for raw. None-the-less, I’ve always been a supporter of fan-subs. Something about Japanese voices in the places the crew casted them to be allows me to expearence the characters. One thing is for sure though, watching the subs and the dubs is almost like watching two completly different series.

I liked my fan subs for fushigi yuugi, they even explained some of the cultural jokes that were going on in the series. I thought that was really well done ^_^

Subbed Vs. Dubbed Empty
PostSubject: Re: Subbed Vs. Dubbed   Subbed Vs. Dubbed EmptyMon 04 Apr 2011, 22:35

I absolutely HATE dubbed anime.
I mean, as a child / beginner anime fan it was all I watched; I never even noticed the poor voice over skills, and mostly terrible voice acting, that went along with it.
Where as I have watched manly subbed anime's, and sometimes the subs aren't correct (I think it depends on who subs them really. Never watch fan-subbed anime!) but I seem to enjoy subbed anime 10x better...

but that's just me...-cough- <3
