Ragnarok Online

Alright, in case anyone's interested, Ragnarok Online is an MMORPG that is a 2D character sprites on a 3D environment. You get used to the game very quickly cuz there's no complex skill and stat building (there's even a tutorial on the download and register part on the web site).
There's a pvp arena and twice per week there's a guild castle siege, there are quests like an item hunt or an area access that some can be quite challenging, a pet system, a merchant class(not common in most MMORPG). The max lvl is 99(base)/50(skill) and if you get to lvl 99, you can chose to be reborn to a transcending class (more skills and 30% more HP and SP and the max lvls are 99base/70skill).

Oh and there are private servers out there but it is more complicated to get one but here are some pros and cons of a private server.

pros:
-no monthly fees
-experience and drop rates are usually alot more than in the legit servers.
-More up to date with the game than iRO (cuz you need the Korean RO client)
-some servers have a differant scenario (like there's 1 server that where Orcs took over the capital of Prontera City)
-If you donate money to the server, you can get great armor or weapons
-Depending on which server, some GMs (game master) are really helpful(more than in iRO). But some can be real a-holes (Damn you Syphon! )

cons:
-Server wipes (ouch, all this lvling for nothing!?)
-You're lucky if you can get a good Korean RO and Sakray client
-At some point, you will be bored that you did most of the game in a month
-noobs, noobs, noobs, and more of those annoying begging noobs (especially those Brazillians that can't speak english)
-some servers are not dedicated(only open at some time of the day)
-not alot of people in most private servers.
-some servers have player killings on every location (this is where the legit server rejected and most hated players come to play)

for me, the reason why i'd use a p server is to experiment skills and stat building (there are skill and stat resets ...for a price)

Back to iRO, I have an account there(but i'll only renew it if some of you still wants to play iRO Sakray server, here are my characters:
=Ronfar= lvl 91 full support priest ,
-Marcel- lvl 66 gank/backstab rogue,
=Marcel= lvl 63 battle alchemist,
Hansi Kursch lvl 61 battle bard,
Kazuna Takashiro lvl 71 vit/spear knight

I have also made a trial account to help you guys out with the basics

you can whisper me in game by clicking on the small left chat box and put my name and on the longer chat box on the right, type your message.
oh and post your character names in the forum so we'll know who is who.

here's a tip, type /noctrl and you'll be able to click the enemy once to have your charater keep attacking it.

And just in case if you don't know which server to go to. Go to the Sakray server (you'll have an icon especially named Sakray with the RO icon on your desktop) Sakray was a test server and has double exp and drops than on the main servers.

for whaterver reason, the tutorial put her on the opposite end when i told them i wanted her to become an acolyte.

yeah, that's what happened to me when I first started RO.

I still miss my DA though. it is very addicting. i like beating the crap out of little critters.

i'm not sure i like the acolyte thing, i should have stuck with the super peasant ^_^ it takes forever to kill anything now and making money in RO is sickly hard.

the money is hard, but if you find a rare card, you can make 1 000 000 zenny easily. And if you join a good guild that does War of Empirium, and gets hold of a castle, you get armor and rares or the leader can sell the castle drops and give the guildmates a good 200 000 zenny pay each WoE.

I never got the chance to get a regular account so I'm a little out of touch, until that I day I play maple story.

Dam you all for introducing me to this blasfamist game now im getting addicted.

how do you join a private server?

im still having trouble with the free server it keeps crashing before i can play.

I play on Rebirth RO

I tried the perivate servers befor, so did some of my friends. But it wasnt the same ._.

I go play on iRO every now and then, it's just it gets annoying to ask my guildmates to borrow some of their gears cuz i lost mine. But WoE is fun (especially when you're in one of the top guilds in the server )

I wish i knew how to play on private servers cuz I have the game but my trail is way passed expired.

to play private servers, you need the korean version of RO and sakray (you prolly have the north american version of it: iRO. and you also need the client of the private server you wanna play in.
As for how to play, well it's the same basicly the same as you played the trial (there are more things for convenience for the players too)
